Archive

White porcelain and empty walls. Feelings of the greatest joy brought down with the silence between the realities of you and I. Your right, and I'm always wrong. I'm sorry. It's not enough. Maybe we should face the truth. But we shouldn't face the hurt. I'm sorry and it's not enough. So just let me be to grow, to change and to forget. It's what I need and I know you will you know eventually is what is the only thing left to do. I know there is something else, and you know what I have is not enough. Let's wave goodbye in the best of fashion.
I will move on, move on, and adapt. Please feel like i am thankful.

The Weekend Ahead

So, turns out the long weekend proved to be a good excuse to go SOMEWHERE so we chose Banff. Dustin and I are currently in the Acura, typical road trip style- him playing poker on his phone while driving ("were in Alberta now") and me figuring out my new iPhone. We are meeting another couple there and are anticipating a weekend of dining out, hiking in the gorgeous scenery, late nights at Aurora, lots of Second Cup (please come to Sask!) and maybe a little bit if shopping.
So, I lied. We still found an excuse to come to Calgary/Banff. I will later update you on new gems and old favorites.

It's Finished...

So, with there being a timeline on finishing Jocelyn's room/ the "guest room" we opted for a safe colour (if you can call it that- but I still love it) and some cheap accessories for the room. Here are the before pictures...

Here is me painting the first day. About an hour in, I was bored already. Luckily, I have a wonderful fiancee who felt sorry for me and helped out...

Since I needed to be on a serious budget, but still needed wall art I looked to Dollarama and Michaels and here is what I found:

The results of my shopping trip... for under $30...

And here is the finished product..

It is nice to be finished. My timing for one of these kinds of projects wasen't so good, considering all that's left to do with the house but it worked out okay. The white may seem bland, but to me, not having a room in the house that's beige is something different for me!
I will note that a few pieces are missing from that room... a new stool for the vanity, a mirror and some new knobs for the vanity that never quite made it's way on it before I took pictures but she is all moved in and liking it, so I'm thankful.

The pinks in the sky are all that's left from this anticipated day.
Oh but what's next to shine those lights?
What exactly is behind that anticipation?
When do we become that so much of the world and does it always have me feeling so empty?
The sun will rise another day and what are you using as that push to rise to end with only those pinks in the sky.

Things I am going to miss...

This spring, Dustin's best friend decided to move back home to Saskatchewan. Although I am very excited that he is returning, and Dustin and I can spend more time with him and his girlfriend, I am also a little sad that we won't be making our routine trips into Calgary. Here are some of my favourite things about it:

Mango Shiva- the best Indian food known to man as well as the best atmosphere for a Indian restaurant ever!

I cannot make a trip to Calgary without visiting Crave. Out of some of my past favourite cupcake experiences (Cupcake Conspiracy in Saskatoon, Sprinkles in Chicago, and The Cupcake Corner in Winnipeg) this definitely tops it!

Steeling Home is my favourite gift shop. I always pick up real cute gifts (and things for myself) here.

Only a short short drive to Banff. I love visiting the mountains again as much as I can! And to snowboard, shop, hike, etc.

Our tradition is always to eat our first breakfast at Nellies on 17th... Im gonna miss their banana bread french toast!

And last but not least... Calgary shopping! (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Aritizia, Zara, XXI, Michael Kors, Steve Madden, Pottery Barn, Ikea... the list goes on and on of all the endless shopping opportunities that Saskatchewan does not have...
